Stanislav O. Artiomenko (Skhid)

Defender of Mariupol Stanislav Artemenko (call sign East) was killed on July 29, 2022, as a result of a terrorist attack in a prison in the temporarily occupied village of Olenivka in Donetsk Oblast. The warrior was only 25 years old. Stanislav was originally from Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast. He stu to become a programmer but did not have time to complete his higher education. He loved running and sports, especially boxing, and even competed in the professional ring. Later, he joined the separate special forces unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov." He was a sniper. On February 24, 2022, with the onset of the full-scale invasion, Stanislav was in positions in the city of Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast. He held the position of mortar man. He was credited with destroying enemy equipment. On May 11, during the fighting, Stanislav was wounded in the leg. Just a few days later, on the night of May 16, the "Azov" regiment left the Azovstal plant. Ukrainian defenders were captured by Russian occupiers. Since that day, his family did not know what had happened to Stanislav. In the night of July 29, 2022, an explosion occurred in Olenivka prison. Subsequently, the occupiers released lists that included 50 dead and 73 wounded Ukrainian prisoners of war. Among these names, the family found their Stanislav. "Our lives were divided into before and after July 29, 2022. Stanislav was the best man, son, and friend. Kind, modest, well-mannered. Our hero left behind a mother suffering from cancer and a grandmother," said his beloved girlfriend Anna. Stanislav was awaited by his grandmother, mother, girlfriend, and friends.
