- Born on October 1, 1986, in the village of Kozyntsi, Borodyanka District, Kyiv Oblast. Graduated from secondary school No. 2 in the urban-type settlement of Nemishayeve, Borodyanka District, and in 2005 from vocational school No. 26 in the urban-type settlement of Borodyanka, Kyiv Oblast (now Borodyanka Professional Agrarian Lyceum). From 2005 to 2006, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a driver in the 9th Airborne Company of the 3rd Airborne Battalion of the 80th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0284 (field post V3720), Lviv). Since the fall of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Partisan." Since January 13, 2015, he was a participant in the defense of Donetsk International Airport. On January 15, 2015, soldier Valentyn Opanasenko was wounded but continued to participate in holding the new terminal of Donetsk International Airport. He had the opportunity to leave twice but did not abandon his severely wounded comrades and stayed with them. On January 20, 2015, soldier Valentyn Opanasenko was killed after the second floor of the new terminal of Donetsk International Airport was blown up by Russian-terrorist groups. Since then, he was considered missing in action. In April 2015, he was identified by his parents.
