Vasyl V. Poliakov

Born on May 2, 1991, in the village of Dmytrivka, Kiliya District, Odesa Oblast. In 2009, he graduated from the general education school in the village of Dmytrivka, Kiliya District. From 2009 to 2010, he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served under contract in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He held the positions of a cadet at the Training Center for the Preparation of Junior Specialists of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (now named after Major General Ihor Momot - military unit 9930, the village of Orshanytsia, Sosnivka District, Cherkasy city) and inspector of the first category of the border service - head of the special equipment division of the 10th Mobile Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (Kyiv city). Since July 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On July 11, 2014, Senior Sergeant Polyakov was killed by a sniper's bullet while attempting to evacuate a wounded soldier of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade in the area of the village of Dovzhanske, Sverdlovsk District (since 2016 - Dovzhanske) of Luhansk Oblast. Senior Sergeant Lutskyi was also killed in that battle. On July 14, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Dmytrivka, Kiliya District.
