- Born on October 24, 1988, in the city of Lviv. In 2004, he graduated from the 9th grade of general education school No. 100 in Lviv, and in 2007 - from the Lviv Professional Lyceum (now - Lviv Higher Vocational School of Technologies and Services) and obtained the profession of "Cook-Pastry Chef." He served his mandatory military service in the 80th Separate Airborne Order of the Red Banner Brigade of the Airborne Forces of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0284, Lviv). He worked in various fields in the city of Lviv. In the spring of 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Samara-Ulyanovsk Berdychiv Iron Order of the October Revolution, three-time Order of the Red Banner, Orders of Suvorov and Bohdan Khmelnytsky Brigade named after Prince Daniel of Galicia of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0998, Yavoriv, Lviv region). Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On July 11, 2014, in the area of the village of Zelenopillya in the Sverdlovsk (since 2016 - Dovzhansky) district of Luhansk region, around 4:30 AM, Russian-terrorist groups shelled the base camp of Ukrainian troops with BM-21 "Grad" multiple rocket launchers. As a result of the shelling, 7 servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and 30 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed, including Yuriy Nahornyi. On October 13, 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the city of Lviv on the facade of general education school No. 100 (Velychkovskoho Street, 58), where Yuriy Nahornyi studied. On November 28, 2015, he was buried in the field of Honorary Burials No. 76 at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
