Oleksandr O. Kruk

Born on May 15, 1992, in the village of Slyvynne, Mykolaiv district, Mykolaiv region. In 2007, he graduated from the 9th grade of the general education school in the village of Solonchaky, Ochakiv district, Mykolaiv region, in 2009 - from the general education school in the village of Parutyne, Ochakiv district, and in 2013 - from the Nadbuzhskyi Professional Agrarian Lyceum in the village of Nadbuzke, Mykolaiv district, Mykolaiv region. In 2011-2012, he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On March 24, 2014, he was mobilized by the Ochakiv District Military Commissariat into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0224, Mykolaiv city). Since the spring of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On July 11, 2014, in the area of the village of Zelenopillya, Sverdlovsk (since 2016 - Dovzhanske) district of Luhansk region, around 4:30 in the morning, Russian-terrorist groups shelled the base camp of Ukrainian troops with BM-21 "Grad" multiple rocket launchers. As a result of the shelling, 7 servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and 30 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed, including senior soldier Kruk. Only 3 weeks after the shelling, his body was identified through DNA testing. On July 30, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Solonchaky, Ochakiv district, Mykolaiv region.
